Reflecting on Our Golden Anniversary Year
By Dale Verderano, President and Chief Executive Officer

2013 marked Matadors Community Credit Union's 50th Anniversary and a successful year for the Credit Union.

Over the past year, we celebrated our anniversary in a number of ways, but most importantly, we wanted our members to take part in the celebration. We had a very successful and well-attended Anniversary Celebration Day in April. Members enjoyed a nice lunch, frozen treats, giveaways and a raffle where several members won fun prizes, and one lucky winner went home with an iPad Mini! Our younger members enjoyed face painting and balloon animals as well.

In addition to our Celebration Day, we gave away shopping bags and car sun shades to our members. Members also had an opportunity to win $50 each month in our Anniversary Contest. We had 12 lucky, and very appreciative, winners!

MCCU is very fortunate to have several members who have banked with us for decades. We were able to interview twelve of them and highlight them in our quarterly newsletters and on our website. It was truly an honor to hear their stories about being MCCU members for so long.

In addition to our Anniversary celebration, we had a very successful year! We were once again voted Best Credit Union by readers of the L.A. Daily News, and we ended the year with the highest 5-Star rating from Bauer Financial.

We owe our success to our members — without you, we wouldn't be here today. But we also pay homage to our employees. Many of our employees have been with us for more than 20 years, and each and every one of them are hard-working, knowledgeable, and eager to serve our members and continue to make MCCU a great place to bank. We will continue to give our community members a healthy, reliable and friendly place to bank, and look forward to serving you for the next 50 years and beyond.

Thank you for celebrating our Anniversary with us!
