We’re focusing on the new era of scams powered by artificial intelligence. In 2025, we’ve seen a rise in fake voices, fake emails, and even fake video calls designed to mimic people you trust. These scams are dangerously convincing. One wrong move could cost thousands of dollars.
AI Scam Examples:
Phone calls with AI-generated voices mimicking relatives or trusted contacts
Emails appearing to be from your bank asking for login credentials
Video messages “from your credit union” requesting sensitive information
Fake text messages with links to phishing websites
Social media accounts hacked and used to request money from friends
Deepfake audio asking for urgent wire transfers or payments
Even when voices and messages sound genuine, take the time to confirm their authenticity. Strengthening your online security settings can also help stop scammers from gaining access to your accounts.
🔴 The most effective way to protect yourself?
Do Not Answer Your Phone.
If you don’t recognize the number, DO NOT ANSWER. Most AI scams begin with a call, don’t give them the chance. Victims have been tricked into wiring thousands of dollars to fake emergency contacts or giving up login credentials only to find their accounts emptied within minutes.
Hang up on suspicious calls and independently verify caller identity by calling a trusted number.
Turn on two-factor authentication for your email and financial accounts.
Limit personal details visible on social media to reduce the risk of being targeted.
